ABOUT WHATZ

2022 WHATZ INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR

WHATZ acts as a platform in Taiwan that bridges between talented artists and art enthusiasts from around the world; a place for art galleries, artists, collectors to engage and discover more.

In 2021, WHAAAAAT’S  rebranded as WHATZ, a neater presentation yet with the same vision to deliver diversity and vibes to the art scene in Taiwan.

3rd edition – May 2022

In face of the global outbreak of an epidemic, plus rupture and reform within the organization; WHAAAAAT’S is rebranded as WHATZ, such transformations become the fuel that energized WHATZ.

2020

1st edition – January 2020

The inaugural edition introduced the theme of “studio opening,” and invited over 50 artists to participate in. This unique positioning allowed artists to articulate their artistic practice and inspirations to collectors and art enthusiasts, as well as delivering a more personable and interactive art experience to the visitors. The fair welcomed over 3,000 visitors over 3 days.

Besides, the fair arranged guided tours, art talks and interactive media art to enrich their art experience and created occasions for artists, collectors, academics and art enthusiasts to get together. The fair was also a place where gallerists, artists, curators and art consultants to network, encourage and learn from others, as well as building confidence to continue their artistic journeys.
